This year will be the third time the City of Dublin Youth Services have participated in the St Patrick’s Day parade following our involvement in 1995 and 2024.
“D Wondrous Quest of Youth” is an upcycled take on the “Hero’s Journey”. Embracing the challenges of life, this performance piece captures the excitement of travel and new experiences, where well known characters are encountered along the way:
The colourful Pheonix, flying the nest to start a new life, the female Boxer, taking on adversity, the rhythmic Serpent, facing fear, the savvy Salmon of Knowledge, finding a way home.
This procession is animated by drummers, dancers and chanters to the rhythms of ancient and new Celts, calling people from all over the world to join us along the banks of Dubh Linn.
There are 123 participants with performers ranging in age from 10 to 18. List of community-based youth work projects who have collaborated with us to produce this piece:
