Who we are
City of Dublin ETB holds statutory responsibility for the provision, coordination, administration, and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city, a role fulfilled by City of Dublin Youth Services.
We support locally managed youth work projects, services, and volunteer-led clubs/groups, ensuring that young people across Dublin have access to diverse and impactful youth work programmes. These initiatives respond directly to the needs of young people, empowering them to reach their fullest potential while strengthening local communities.
At the core of our work is a commitment to community development principles, ensuring social inclusion and empowerment. We take a young person-centred approach, enabling young people to learn, develop, and grow in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Our Work
City of Dublin Youth Services administers several grant funding schemes on behalf of government departments, including the Department of Education & Youth, under initiatives such as UBU Your Place Your Space and the Local Youth Club Grant Scheme.
- UBU Your Place Your Space supports 47 targeted youth work projects, employing 230 professional youth workers who engage with approximately 58,829 young people annually across Dublin City. Alongside administering grant aid and overseeing programme delivery, we collaborate with local stakeholders to address emerging needs affecting young people.
- Volunteer-Led Clubs & Groups: We support 108 volunteer-led youth clubs across Dublin, where an estimated 2,185 volunteers provide vital youth work programmes to 9,462 young people annually. In addition to grant administration, we assist clubs in meeting National Quality Standards for Volunteer-Led Youth Groups.

We work in partnership with a broad network of statutory and voluntary agencies at both city and national levels to enhance youth work provision in Dublin.
