City of Dublin ETB Youth Work Committee
The City of Dublin ETB Youth Work Committee serves as a vital platform for collaboration, bringing together key stakeholders to inform, shape, and enhance youth work provision across Dublin. The committee ensures that the ETB’s youth work functions are inclusive, relevant, and responsive to the needs of young people and communities while aligning with the ETB’s strategic goals.
Role & Responsibilities
The committee’s primary role is to provide guidance, oversight, and strategic direction for youth work in Dublin City including:
- To advise the City of Dublin ETB on the development of the youth work policy and direction of the sector or on any matter related to youth work on which the ETB requests advice.
- To be informed and updated regarding the youth work function including actions and plans in relation to youth work provision, policy and direction.
- To receive appropriate information/reports and updates on the youth work function in terms of actions, results, challenges and outcomes to ensure that the City of Dublin ETB fulfils its Youth Work function.
- To inform the City of Dublin ETB of the information relating to youth work received by it, from the Executive.
- To include representation from the City of Dublin Youth Services Youth Voice Advisory Panel to ensure the voices of young people are heard.
- To contribute to monitoring progress, evaluating outcomes to ensure that the youth work function operations and strategies align with the needs of communities and young people and the overall values of the City of Dublin ETB.
- To contribute to high level conversations informing the development of youth work in the City of Dublin.
- To contribute to and be consulted as a stakeholder on important developments and strategies within the youth work remit.
- To provide guidance and informed insights on specific high-level policy and practice issues, ensuring that a wide range of viewpoints are considered.

The City of Dublin ETB Youth Work Committee includes representatives from ETB board members, youth work organisations, academic institutions, and young people. The committee is chaired by Cllr. Vincent Jackson.
